Aruba Instant Access Point Overview and Configure NTP Server

Today I am going to talk about the Aruba Access point Instant overview and how to configure the NTP server on the Aruba Instant. First of all we need to understand about the Aruba Instant.

What is Aruba Instant ?
Aruba Instant virtualizes Aruba Mobility Controller abilities on 802.11n access points (APs), generating a feature-rich enterprise-grade wireless LAN (WLAN) that associates affordability and configuration ease.

Aruba Instant is a easy way to deploy and turn-key WLAN solution comprising of one or more access points. An Ethernet port with routable connectivity to the internet or a self-enclosed network, is used to position an Instant Wireless Network.

An Instant Access Point (IAP) can be connected at a single site or positioned through multiple geographically detached localities. Planned precisely for easy positioning, and proactive management of networks, Instant is perfect for small customers or remote locations without any on-site IT administrator.

Aruba Instant comprises of an Instant Access Point (IAP) and a Virtual Controller (VC). The Virtual Controller dwells within one of the access points. In an Aruba Instant positioning only the first IAP requirements to be designed. After the first IAP is deployed, the succeeding IAPs get all the essential data from the Virtual Controller.

The NTP server is set to pool.ntp.org  by default. To configure the NTP server on Aruba Instant, perform the following steps.
  • Navigate to the Settings  tab in the top right corner of the Instant UI.
  • In the General  tab, enter the IP address or the URL (domain name) of the NTP server in the NTP

Aruba Instant does not need an exterior controller to control and achieve the Wi-Fi network. Any IAP in the Aruba Instant network vigorously takes up the role of a Virtual Controller (VC) without disturbing the existing network. It directs, stores, and allots all the sets needed to deliver a centralized functionality to control and manage the Wi-Fi network.

The Virtual Controller also functions like any other AP with full RF scalability. It also deeds as a node, managing DHCP address allotment for network address translated clients guaranteeing mobility of the clients when they wander between diverse IAPs.
