Cisco Hyper Convergence Model : HyperFlex

Today we are talking about the new segment of the network where a lot of competitors in the market and the name is " Hyper-Convergence ". First of all some of you guys are really know about the Hyper-Convergence but some of you are totally unaware of the concept of the Hyper-Convergence and where we generally have the Hyper-Convergence infrastructure.

What is Hyper-Convergence ?
Hyper-Convergence is a Software centric infrastructure architecture which integrates the features of compute, storage, networking and virtualization for the resources in the enterprise network.
Starting from the beginning for the converged network where you have various systems to support various features in the infrastructure like you have servers, Storage systems, software define Infra and so on in different boxes.

So what this Hyper-Convergence did ?
Well all the features like Server, storage, compute and that is software defined in the single box on the X86 rack servers makes the complete HCI (Hyper-Convergence) in one box.

Before you are going to study about the hyper-convergence you should have the knowledge of the datacenter environment of Servers, Compute and storage.

Hyper-Convergence Competitors
Well there are so many competitors for the hyper-convergence model but i will stressed more on the main competitors in the market. These competitors are:
  • Cisco HyperFlex
  • Nutanix 
  • EMC-VXRail
  • Simplivity
  • VMware
As per the standards of the leaders in the market from Gartner as shown below:

So from the Gartner, there are lot of players in the market on hyper convergence model, Cisco, EMC, Oracle, Nutanix, HP, Net-app are in the leaders quadrant and other are in the challengers, visionaries and niche players.

So now lets talk about the Cisco hyperFlex, HyperFlex brings increased operational efficiency and adaptability to more workloads in your data center. We can have accelerate ACI adoption, simplify Citrix XenDesktop, It can improve operational efficiency.

HyperFlex is built on an API-driven architecture for the interoperability required by DevOps-style IT. It integrates into orchestration toolsets and cloud services.Cisco HyperFlex Systems run on HyperFlex HX Data Platform Software, version 2.0.1. The software supports VMware vSphere, versions 5.5 and 6.0 update 1. HyperFlex is engineered on the Cisco UCS platform. It is part of a data center architecture that supports traditional, converged, and hyperconverged systems with common policies and infrastructure management. In other words you can say HyperFlex HX Data Platform is a high-performance, flash optimized distributed file system that delivers a wide range of enterprise-grade data management and optimization services. HX Data Platform is optimized for flash, reducing SSD wear while delivering high performance and low latency without compromising on data management or storage efficiency
