SonicWall Vs WatchGuard Vs Sophos UTMs

Today I am going to talk about the comparison between three firewalls on basis of the user count in the network. May be the requirement of the users is from 1000 to 2500 users in the network, we are comparing SonicWall, WatchGuard and Sophos.

SonicWALL NSA 6600 Firewalls
The SonicWall Network Security Appliance (NSA) series delivers mid-sized networks, branch offices and distributed enterprises with advanced threat prevention in a high-performance security platform. Combining next- generation firewall technology with Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine on a multi-core architecture, the NSA series offers the security, performance and control organizations require.

Below are the parameters for the firewall capabilities of SonicWall NSA 6600
Firewall throughput: NSA 6600 has the firewall throughput of 12 Gbps and IPS throughput of 4.5 Gbps. It has also the throughput of VPN and the throughput is 5 Gbps. The maximum throughput for Threat Prevention is 3 Gbps but with the performance optimized you can get it to 6 Gbps. The IMIX throughput is also 3 Gbps. Maximum Concurrent sessions are 750,000 and new connection/sec is 90,000

WatchGuard XTM 870 Firewalls
The WatchGuard XTM 870-F Series brings best-in-class network security. This firewall will provide up to 14 Gbps firewall throughput and over 9 Gbps throughput with full IPS and antivirus threat protection enabled. The exceptional performance also allows you to integrate functions that previously required separate stand-alone appliances, so your business can securely run at maximum speed and efficiency at a lower cost. And the value doesn't end there.

Below are the parameters for the firewall capabilities of WatchGuard XTM 870
Firewall throughput: XTM 870 has the firewall throughput of 14 Gbps and IPS throughput of 9 Gbps. It has also the throughput of VPN and the throughput is 10 Gbps. The maximum throughput for AV is 7 Gbps. Maximum DPI connections are 9,000,000 and new connection/sec is 90,000

Sophos SG 550 Firewalls
The Sophos SG 550 is a high-performance firewall furnished to deliver guard for larger distributed organizations and data center environments. They offer the fastest Intel CPU technology available today to effortlessly handle use as an all-in-one solution or a powerful next-generation firewall.

The models offer either 4 (SG 550) FleXi Port expansion bays to tailor your connectivity to your environment. An 8 port GbE copper module is supplied as a default. Hot-swappable dual SSDs and power supplies are standard redundancy features in this class. Cluster up to 10 of these appliances for larger deployments or simply add an additional appliance as a failover for high availability.

Below are the parameters for the firewall capabilities of Sophos SG550
Firewall throughput: Sophos SG550 has the firewall throughput of 40 Gbps and IPS throughput of 12 Gbps. It has also the throughput of VPN and the throughput is 8 Gbps. The maximum throughput for Antivirus throughput is 3.5 Gbps. Maximum DPI connections are 12,000,000 and new connection/sec is 100,000
